redeemer D-groups are a place where you can become more like Jesus in a community of people who are devoted to knowing and loving you deeply and engaging with the world around them
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.” Acts 2:42
What are d-groups?
Closed, same-sex groups (all male or all female) of 3-5 believers that meet for 60-90 minutes weekly for 12-18 months.
Practice weekly disciplines of Bible reading, Scripture memory, prayer, and accountability.
The goal is for groups to multiply at the end of the 12-18 month cycle.
Distinctives of D-Groups
Requires higher commitment to relationships in the group and allows for greater accountability/vulnerability within the group.
More intensive spiritual transformation through the disciplines practiced
Builds deep relationships (not just wide ones)
Teaches members how to disciple one another through shared leadership
Allows for the freedom for groups to join up for larger fellowship events
Makes disciples who make disciples
Why should you join a D-Group?
Your group will help hold you accountable to the weekly disciplines that are vital for spiritual transformation.
Being vulnerable with others helps you realize you are not alone.
Praying together for one another, for the lost, and for the world helps lead us to action.
You will grow!
